Plug To Success started with five DePaul University seniors who were looking to make a difference in their community. As they were asked to find a problem that needed solving in their Entrepreneurship Strategy class, they decided to tackle a social issue. The digital divide is a serious problem that students encounter every day right here in Chicago's school district. Students at different schools within the same school district have very different learning experience.
While some classrooms are taught using solely google classrooms, classrooms just a few miles away have never completed an assignment using a computer. Funding for these schools looks very different and this is reflected in access to technology and literacy with computers. Plug To Success was started to step into those communities and provide access and education to technology. We are partnering with I Grow Chicago to develop a computer education program in the computer lab within their community center in Englewood, Chicago.
